Rotterdam, Netherlands (Ports Europe) March 13, 2025 – A consortium headed by Devcap has won the tender for a floating solar park at Port of Rotterdam's De Slufter. De Slufter is a 250-hectare depot located in the southwest section of the Maasvlakte within the Port of Rotterdam. Rijkswaterstaat, the Central Government Real Estate Agency, and
DevCap, as the lead party of consortium Sun Float Power, has won a tender as the operator of a floating solar farm at De Slufter on Rotterdam's Maasvlakte. With the completion of this 96-MWp solar farm, approximately 87,000 MWh can be generated annually, equivalent to the energy consumption of 30,000 households.
The dredging depot must remain operational during both the construction and operational phases of the floating solar park. The emphasis on ecology, safety and the environment in the tender, titled “Good Neighbourliness”, also played a role in the selection.
